Life isn’t easy, there are always challenges, some big, some small but they are always there.
Take some time to think about the way you have reacted to them in the past, don’t think about the challenges themselves, but the way in which you as an individual responded to them. How you respond to challenges determines who you are and what you become.
Just as there will always be a challenge, there will always be a choice of which path you take in response.
You may chose to behave as a victim by viewing the circumstances in which you find yourself as totally outside your control and believing there is nothing you can do about it. In this way you take no responsibility for any part you might have played and at the same time feel powerless to make changes – you are just waiting for the next thing to happen.
Alternatively you can learn to look at exactly how it is you have arrived there and realise that your past choices and behaviours have brought you to where you are. YOU actually controlled your route and YOU can choose the way forward.
The initial step of the process is to look very hard at yourself and realise that you really do have the potential to control your own path because this sometimes requires decisions which take you away from your ‘normal’ patterns of behaviour.
Do you want more balance and to be able to learn how to choose the path that you want to take in life?
Learn how to live life, being true to yourself and with all the happiness that will ensue.
It is often said that we all carry baggage from the past. It may be helpful to picture it literally as perhaps a suitcase full of dirty, old or badly fitting clothes – some we have packed ourselves and some put there by others. Why not learn how to fill it with clean clothes that fits and suits you for the way you live or want to live today.
